FAQs

Pétanque

What time should we arrive for our booking?

Please arrive at least 15 minutes before your lane booking to allow time to check-in.

I'm running late... what should I do?

Don't panic, just get here safely! We know that these things happen, so you will still be able to start your game once you arrive. On quieter days, we will always try our best to give you the full 90 minutes of play if courts are available, however on busier days your original game ‘end time’ will remain.

Is the venue covered?

Our venue is fully covered in winter (with heaters throughout!). During the summer months, we are an open-air venue with a number of covered courts and fully covered seating areas.

What is pétanque?

Pétanque is a traditional French boules game that originated in Provence in the early 20th century. It is a form of boules where the goal is to metal balls (boules) as close as possible to a small wooden target ball called the cochonnet (or jack). Pétanque at Boulebar is not just a sport but a social activity.

Your booking will give you 90 minutes on one of our pétanque courts for groups of 2-6. Arrive early or stick around after to enjoy our refreshing beer, custom cocktails and tasty food.

How much does it cost to play pétanque?

Entry to Boulebar is free and our pétanque lanes are bookable in 90 minute sessions, for just £10 per player.

Do I need to book to play pétanque?

All our courts are available to be booked on our website. We will always try to get you on to a free court but we do recommend booking in advance, particularly during peak times.

BOOKINGS

Can we book for longer than 90 minutes?

Of course, you can either book multiple courts during the same time-slot or multiple time-slots for the same court.

Do I need to bring the card with me that I booked with?

No, just make sure you bring your booking confirmation email on your phone.

Can I pay with cash?

We're fully cashless.

How do I get a VAT receipt?

Your confirmation email acts as your VAT receipt and details the breakdown and VAT numbers.

Is there disabled access?
